Mrs. DuBois’ position of
school counselor affords her the opportunity to be another helping person at
Scott M. Ellis Elementary. She is often
asked to meet with students who may be having some difficulties transitioning
into school.
She meets with students individually and in groups to assist them with any problems or concerns that may be negatively impacting their educational program. Students can self refer or be referred for services by their parent(s), teacher(s) or administrator(s). Students meet with her for a wide array of reasons, including, but not limited to problems with academics, study skills, peer relations, grief and loss, attendance or family concerns.
Mrs. DuBois sees her role as helping students to develop healthy strategies to cope with any obstacles and difficulties they may face so that every child is a happy and successful learner.
